In the many years that I have been checking in here I have seen Randy make so many positive contributions to this board. He has done me several favours and sent me a load of fantastic stuff in trades.

I don't particularly enjoy reading other people's negative posts about him.

Or negative posts in general for that matter.

Sorry but thats just the way I feel - lets get back to drumming!

I certainly agree with you David. Great post. I was introduced to Randy through internet by my good friend Todd Sucherman. Although I've only had a few email interchanges with him, it was enough to convince me that he was wonderful guy with a contagious enthusiasm for drumming. I too was greatly disheartened by some negative press he had gotten in recent days. Randy obviously made a quick effort to smooth things out with his detractors, as any good moderator would. He has shown great restraint in refusing to sling mud, especially in the face of provocation. I admire that. I am hoping that everything is reconciled amongst offended parties.
I also echo your statements about getting back to drumming. Rather than beating a dead a horse, let's beat some Remos (or Evans--whichever you prefer :0)

Randy's contributions are great. The reality is still there though. His approach and his comments were still uncalled for whether or not you want to read them. I was merely explaining to Steve Michaud, why I was unreasonable in my post about his drumming, and that indeed it was more of a retaliation. To set the record straight, the only provoker was Mr. Walker. I honestly did not want to bring this matter up again, but because of that post, I must explain.
So David, I'm sorry if you don't want to read the facts. I still felt I had to explain them to Steve. Great contributions or not.

P.S Steve, don't forget about Aquarian, and Attack heads..HA!!!

To sum up the recent direction of this thread:

(1) Negative comments, if not constructive and said with the proper spirit and motive, are not really profitable and are often hurtful (I think everybody agrees on this).

(2) I think there is a little unresolved tension among some of you. Although no one has appointed me as an arbiter over the dispute, the public nature of this situation gives me rise to submit a comment or two for personal reflection. (Again, I don't claim to have authority over any of you; I offer them as food for thought).
If a difficulty of this sort arises, I believe that the people involved should by all means seek to reconcile by working through the difficulty via communication of some sort. The time might come, however, when people are simply seeing something a different way. You might decide that the matter is small enough simply to overlook. Whatever the case, bitterness and stewing is never a healthy option. Better to have a forgiving heart and put the matter on the backburner for the time being. As things cool off, the opportunity might arise to discuss the issue again under more favorable circumstances. This is my $0.02.
But for now, if I may humbly redirect this thread before it dies on a note foreign to its original intention, I'd make a last-ditch attempt to pursue a little more dialogue in keeping with the drumming aspect of things. I've profited from your comments thus far. Any more thoughts / questions from you HoDers regarding the recordings under discussion? If you're winded, I understand. I commend you for sticking with it this far! :0)

Yes, the horse is dead & since beaten. Let's let it go; rest in the dust where it is & get on with it, shall we? So some of us may differ in some areas from time to time, no big deal. If someone doesn't "get it," then oh well, what can ya do, so be it, better to be the bigger person & just let it lie. Someone explain to me why and how stating a fact is slanderous. Someone explain to me how defending that fact in a previous thread to David, is slanderous.
Someone explain to me why offering an apology and confession of motvie in regards to what I said about Steve Ms playing is a bad thing. That's what I did, and that's what Flam did.
If these can be explained accurately to me, than I'll concur. Until then I see no slander. What I see is just an observation. I only stated what actually happened. I didn't force Randy to walk into another thread and talk slander about Hass. Did I?
OK. Thanks...... The very least you guys can do is admit the truth. And move on. But not if I read posts that say Randy didn't do anything. That's simply not true.

I do agree with SDK, both he and I took offense to Randy's approach at Steve Hass' expense. But that's something he'll have to take up with Hass. For me. I just wanted to know why I came off like a big butt. haha....
To Randy's credit, he did apologize. So let's forget about it.
David, your post wasn't necessary and brought us back on the defensive. Those aren't negative comments. That's just what actually went down. We're not making this stuff up.
So, not another word.
How about them new Innovation Drums.
